About 15 Waite Davies Road
Other features include a small but characterful olive tree set in Italianate terracotta and underplanted with ‘Hidcote’ English lavender. On a more exotic note is a golden grapefruit tree. The variety is ‘Wheeney’, certainly not named for the size of the fruit, but after Wheeney Creek on the outskirts of Sydney, Australia, where it was first discovered. Clematis that scramble about include ‘Pearl D’azur’, ‘Margaret Hunt’, and ‘The President’. Other Roses include the exquisite mid-pink ‘Olivia Rose Austin’, and the informal white ‘Kew Gardens’.
This Garden is only 8 years old, so is still maturing. The house has recently been knocked through and extended, with bi-fold doors opening out onto the garden, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. The overall impression is one of a modern, yet quintessentially English garden.
