60 Cable Street

Plantswoman's garden, planted to give year-round interest and to attract as much wildlife as possible. I garden with the environment and sustainability in mind and, as such, think carefully about any plants and materials that I use. I also try to find the 'right plant for the right place' so that it can thrive without the need for chemical applications or extensive watering.

About 60 Cable Street

Front garden has birch trees and yew cones for structure. The rest of the space is filled with seasonal perennials including some large late flowering perennials and tall grasses used in prairie style planting. Also incudes unusual summer flowering alliums that are 7 ft tall! Colour scheme mostly purple, pink, blue and white. There is a path around the bed. Native hedging provides a backdrop to the bed.
Back garden is small and surrounded by high walls and fences, giving a courtyard feel. There are many beds, borders and large pots all used to maximise planting space. Small trees and large shrubs provide height, and walls and fences are screened by plants. The beds are mainly planted in a colourful cottage garden style. There are raised beds for fruit and very large pots for trees and shrubs. There is also a greenhouse, a potting shed, an archway and a small wildlife pond. There are brick paths around the beds and a small lawn. Access to the back garden is through the garage.
