Bisterne Manor & Stable Family Home Trust

Two spectacular gardens in one visit, linked by history. The original commercial walled garden to the C16 Manor House (not open) now used by the Stable Family Home Trust, a charity, founded in 1980, supporting adults with learning difficulties, will be open alongside the Manor garden providing a wonderful 4 acre combination.

About Bisterne Manor & Stable Family Home Trust

The Manor has a formal parterre with original C19 urns and pond, box and yew hedges. Wildflower planting on the lawns reflect from the fields outside, visible from the windows created around the garden. A winding path leads to a small well-stocked kitchen garden and greenhouses. The SFHT walled gardens are divided: a kitchen garden with raised beds surrounded by herbaceous borders and greenhouses; in another a dry gravel garden with interesting pottery sculptures; a small memorial garden and an orchard.
