About Dugoed Bach
Rescued from a wilderness when the owners purchased the 19th century property in 2009, and has gone through many transformations to reach its current form, often on a limited budget. The steep sloping south facing stony site provides many challenges, and it’s been a voyage of discovery to learn what plants thrive in this exposed garden.
Ponds and wetland areas provide a haven for wildlife, with low maintenance being a key consideration for any planting areas. Fruit and vegetables are grown to provide food, from a small vegetable garden, and poly tunnel, plus fruit bushes mixed in with the herbaceous perennial planting. Particular highlights are a seaside garden, and the large number of roses, grown throughout. Moving round the garden requires the ability to handle steep steps and uneven ground.
