About Harcombe House

In May, majestic rhododendrons and azaleas in many hues grow in abundance, providing a blaze of colour in the formal garden. The giant hostas along one bed are also a key feature of this part of the garden. The wild garden has a spring-fed natural pond and the slopes are planted with trees and covered with bluebells.

Visitors can also explore the wood above the garden, which extends to the top of Hardown Hill, providing one of the best views in Dorset. In 2023 the paths through the woodland area were fully restored but ‘sensible’ footwear is advised for this part of the garden
