Traditional Lake District garden that has been redesigned and replanted. A series of terraces lead down to the River Leven and wooded area. Inc a rose garden, cutting garden, dell area, rock terrace, herbaceous borders and many interesting mature shrubs. Although unsuitable for wheelchairs or those using mobility aids, visitors may view the garden from the terrace.

About Haverthwaite Lodge

Traditional Lake District garden that has been redesigned and replanted. A series of terraces lead down to the River Leven and wooded area. Inc a rose garden, cutting garden, dell area, rock terrace, herbaceous borders and many interesting mature shrubs. Although unsuitable for wheelchairs or those using mobility aids, visitors may view the garden from the terrace.

In a stunning setting the garden is surrounded by oak woodland and was once a place of C18 and C19 industry.

Turn S off A590 opp Haverthwaite train stn. Bus 6, NCR 70. Parking on the roadside at the top of the drive. No vehicle access on the drive except for those with mobility aids.

Yes, dogs are welcome at  Haverthwaite Lodge. Please keep the dogs on fixed short leads in the garden and keep in mind that you are responsible for controlling the dog’s behaviour. For any specific rules please ask the owners.
