Holly House

Tucked behind a large Grade II listed Georgian house, the gardens of Holly House are a hidden gem. Split into 3 sections they comprise the top garden with terrace, lawn and herbaceous borders. The middle garden has a hydrangea walk, formal rose garden, wildflower/orchard area, fruit and vegetable beds and large greenhouse. The woodland garden has some steep paths which may be muddy/slippy at times.

About Holly House

The garden is located on the outskirts of the historic town of Whitehaven. From here there are beautiful harbour and coastal walks to enjoy.

Limited parking is available on Hensingham Main Street, there is also a public car park in Hensingham Square next to Main Street Hairdressers and also some parking available opposite the public car park in Beck Bottom Community Garden.

We are also founder members of Beck Bottom Community Garden which is just around the corner and is well worth a visit. It is a 2023 Green Flag award winning park which is open to the public at all times. There are formal flower beds, rose beds, wildflower meadow areas and various blossom trees. Beck Bottom Community garden is cared for by volunteers and is situated opposite Ribton Moorside on the B5295. Holly House woodland garden overlooks the community garden.
