Lower Lye

The gardens at Lower Lye are exceptional and were completely reconfigured by the landscape architect Michael Balston 24 yrs ago. An extremely large garden, approx 9 acres placed on the brow of the hill with wonderful views across the valley and the magnificent King Alfred's Tower in the distance. More recently the gardens have been worked on by garden designers Tania Compton and Jane Hurst, who have given improved structure through replanting of the various borders. The gardens have been developed in a simplistic and modern style, which gives a sense of elegance whilst respecting the natural habitat There are numerous modern sculptures and water features placed throughout the garden which are spectacular and provide a number of individual focal points.
