About The Church Allotments

Steeple Aston’s longest surviving allotment site managed by an Association on behalf of the Parish Council. The setting is in the shadow of the Church tower and has lovely views towards Rousham Folly (known locally as the ‘Eyecatcher’). This is a wonderful place for contemplation as well as weeding!
There are 26 plots of assorted shapes and sizes. Most plot holders grow a variety of vegetables, fruit and flowers using a range of gardening styles with some adopting the no dig method. A central path runs through the site with narrower paths leading to some of the plots.

The site slopes gently down to a lower orchard and wild meadow planted with a few heritage fruit trees. Individual allotments may be open to walk around and allotmenteers are on hand to talk about their plots and offer growing tips.

We plan to have a stall selling plants and some produce.
