About Vicarage Cottage
A huge amount of effort has gone into creating the garden at Vicarage Cottage, which is set out across two levels.
The house is on a lower level with an extensive rockery created by previous owners. We understand that 80 lorry loads of earth were taken away to open up the area around the house and local stone was sourced from Stowey Quarry to create a spectacular structure with a winding path connecting the house to the main garden.
The main garden and lawn is on an upper level and set amongst mature beds. The upper garden also includes a stone and oak garage and pergola with a seated area where you can admire the views across of the Chew Valley. You may even receive a welcome from our friendly neighbouring sheep.
In the spring and early summer months, the garden is alive with clematis, iris, wisteria, tulips, azaleas, peony and euphorbia. In mid summer, roses, foxgloves, rose campion, grape leaf anemone are in bloom and in late summer, apples and grapes ripen and our kitchen garden is ready to harvest.
