About Wisteria House

Artist and plantsman’s garden framed by wisterias on Georgian house (not open) and pergolas. Constantly evolving themed areas around the garden offer various seating and views. Ferns and bamboos surround a wild area that leads to lawn, long herbaceous border, pond rill and circular mixed borders. Gravel area with grasses and shrubs. Vegetable plot, rockery and greenhouses.

Collections of aeoniums, abutilons, salvias and succulents. Artists studio part of the lean-to glasshouse with interesting botanical drawings and pictures. A backdrop of rose pergolas and arches, seating areas and vistas throughout the garden enriched by architectural pieces, bamboos and grasses.

A group opening is when a number of gardens open together on the same day.

Visit by Arrangement

This garden opens for By Arrangement visits from May to 15 July for groups of up to 30.
