Orchard House

A five acre garden which was begun eight years ago. Formal borders and courtyard. An English garden finely balanced between the formal and the wild. Beautiful sculptures add to the planting and there is woodland to walk in beyond. If you have been to Orchard House before you can expect to see the hedges and plants all feeling more at home now.

About Orchard House

Surrounded on three sides by fields, this 5 acre garden is a two minute walk from Asthall Manor and the The Three Horseshoes pub (formerly The Maytime). I hope when you come the roses will be in all their glory. We have replaced Mme A Carriere on the drive as she was suffering from mildew but the rose garden and the climbers in the courtyard are thriving. are working to allow the garden to develop a formal area whilst keeping its wild feeling with the original orchard and the woodland beyond.

At Orchard House you will see a garden on which work only began eight years ago beginning to take off. The view we wanted to create from the house is now recognisable. Using a combination of hard landscaping and yew hedging we have created different areas with different characters.

The focal points of the formal garden are the Orange Fossil sculpture by Lucy Unwin and Manga Flower, by Nicholas Moreton.
